Sometimes it feels like I’m living on the wrong earth. Things just keep getting weirder and weirder. And not the good weird that cool kids equate uniqueness to. No, not that kind of weird. I’m talking the “weird” that causes comics like Tynion’s Department of Truth to be uncomfortably relevant. That kind of weird. The kind that make me honestly ask myself when we will get the IRL Daredevil doing bloody acrobatic vigilante acts in a major U.S. city. That kind of weird.

Breathe.

Need a moment? So do I. Wrong Earth from Ahoy Comics is ibuprofen for the soul and we will soon start getting one-shot stories from within the multiverse written by some of the biggest and best names in comics. (While we’re here I should be blunt, anything-Ahoy is ibuprofen for the soul but that’s beside the point).

Take a moment for yourself and indulge in the wildly hilarious world that Peyer and Igle put together as you feast your sights and senses on Gail Simone’s hand at these characters. It’s malt shops and roller skates when Dragonfly winds up in a world full of ..teenagers.

With the brilliant charade that has become the Wrong Earth saga, it comes as surprise to no one that having guest writers do these one-and-done stories to expand the already hilarious Dragonfly stories is only going to strengthen it’s footing in the comic satire history books. (Holy semantics and syntax Dragonflyman, that was a long-winded sentence!)

Will they win him over—or will his violent methods infect their world? The issue is illustrated by Bill Morrison (The Simpsons), Walter Geovani (Red Sonja/ Tarzan), and Rob Lean (Smallville: Alien), with colors by Andy Troy, and lettering by Rob Steen. THE WRONG EARTH: TRAPPED ON TEEN PLANET #1 will feature variant covers by both Gene Ha (Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons) and Dan Parent (Veronica). The issue marks the AHOY Comics debut of legendary writer Gail Simone.
