SDCC Preview: Boom! Has Comics, Conversation, and Creators for You

Usually, when I get ready to go to a con, I tell you why you should go. Well, that's a little silly when it comes to San Diego Comic-Con. So Instead, we'll just get right to previewing what some of our favorite publishers are up to.

Here's what's going on for Boom! Studios...

Boom! has always been good at putting out comics that interested me, whether it was the old Cthulhu Tales, Irredeemable, or just some really solid licensed work, like Planet of the Apes or Peanuts. They'll be at booth #2229, and as with most of the biggest comics pubs, will have exclusives and signings. Things that will interest our readers include these:

Adventure time: Beginning of the End #1 Exclusive Variant Cover by Kat Leyh
Site readers know I love this series a ton. Finn is in danger of being wiped from existence, but in this great cover, a happier time is remembered by all. This will be available for $10.

Adventure Time SDCC 2018 Zine Exclusive Hardcover by Kat Leyh
I'll forgive Boom!'s enthusiasm in calling a hardcover a zine, as I think of my old photocopies that probably aren't even legible anymore, because it's related to Adventure Time. Also by Kat Leyh, but with internal work by her as well this time. Boom is selling this for $20 at the con.

Thrilling Adventure Hour #1 Exclusive Variant Cover by Sean "Cheeks" Galloway
Because I'm not the best at Podcasts, I've never listened to the Thrilling Adventure Hour, but given the premise (an homage to old time radio), I really need to. In the meantime, anything with John DiMaggio and Paul F. Tompkins as regulars and guest stars like Bill Corbett, Kevin Murphy, Patton Oswalt, and Weird Al is all right in my book. Maybe in typical Rob fashion, I'll start with the comic. This edition will be available for $10.

Other specials include a ton of Power Rangers exclusives, which are cool if you're into that series, which never meshed for me. Still, they all look cool and are available in limited quantities.

Boom!'s signing schedule is really jam-packed with cool people. Here's some of the creators, with the full list available here.
