Dynamite Pairs with Story Bundle for First-Ever All-Comics Bundle

Continuing an aggressive push to get comics that have crossover appeal into the hands of new potential readers, Dynamite Entertainment has once again put together a bundle collection, this time in partnership with Story Bundle. Heavily featuring Red Sonja, one of their most recognizable licensed properties, it also has several #1 issues, other book-related characters, and a general feel that it would be a good match for your friend who might want to read comics, but wants to do so with familiar faces who aren't traditional cape characters. (But if you like superheroes, Project Superpowers is in there, too!)

This is Story Bundle's first all-comics offering, and it's in PDF, EPUB, or CBZ, for those who like variety in their lives, and are all DRM-free. The three formats mean just about any tablet or computer can read them for you, though personally, I recommend getting a good PDF reader and 9-inch tablet (aka the first iPad size), so that you can have a reading experience that mirrors holding a comic book.

The promo text definitely makes it clear they're looking at new readers:
Not only do we have A Game of Thrones #1 by George R.R. Martin, Daniel Abraham and Tommy Patterson to celebrate the return of Game of Thrones to TV, we also included The Dresden Files - War Cry Collection by Jim Butcher, Project Superpowers by Alex Ross and Jim Krueger, plus many more quality comics for a price you set. Dynamite and StoryBundle have worked together to make sure it's easy to get into these series by featuring many issue #1s and volume 1s, so you won't feel like you need to jump in in the middle of a storyline. What better way to start or grow your digital comics collection?
And I think that's great, actually. If this gets another 100 or more people reading comics who didn't before, it' a win-win. Given that it's up to 2,800 pages of comics, depending on what level you pledge at, it's also a real chance for a person to sample what Dynamite has to offer. If you already like Dynamite but didn't have these digitally yet, it's a steal, with $15 getting you everything. I already have some, and I'm thinking of going in, just to get the Ramona Fraden art book.

Here's the complete list of titles, if you go to the $15 level:
The Dynamite Bundle includes the following collections, comprising over 2,800 pages of comic book storytelling:

  • Amanda Hocking's The Hollows: A Hollowland Graphic Novel
  • The Art of Ramona Fradon
  • The Complete Alice in Wonderland
  • Jim Butcher's Dresden Files: War Cry
  • Gail Simone's Red Sonja Vol. 1: The Queen of Plagues
  • Legenderry: A Steampunk Adventure (by Bill Willingham)
  • Legends of Red Sonja
  • Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson: Moon Called Vol. 1
  • Project Superpowers Vol. 1
  • Red Sonja Unchained
  • Red Sonja: She-Devil with a Sword Omnibus Vol. 1
  • The Essential Painkiller Jane
  • Vampirella Vol. 1: Our Lady of Shadows by Nancy A. Collins

In addition to the graphic novel collections and art book, Dynamite will give readers a taste of several new releases with single comic book issues, including:

  • A Game of Thrones #1
  • Bob's Burgers #1
  • The Damnation of Charlie Wormwood #1 - #5
  • Jungle Girl: Season Three #1
  • Lady Rawhide/Lady Zorro #1
  • Project Superpowers: Blackcross #1
  • Reanimator #1
I mentioned above the Fradon book. I can also vouch for Simone and Geovani's Red Sonja, in which Gail writes some of her best work and Geovani shows he's this generations John Romita. Nancy Collins' Vampirella was fun pulp, and of course, there's Alex Ross lurking in that Project Superpowers stuff. For those three things alone, going for the $15 level is worth it, to say nothing of getting several #1 issues to try at a bargain rate.

As with any bundle, it's a limited time offer that expires in three weeks. If you're interested, you can check it out here.
